All in the job of HR Manager. When employees join you are the best friend, 6 months down the line you are just a formality.
These kind of things happen almost in every industry where systems/rules has to be set.

HI Shrini,
As it is rightly mentioned above that Change comes in by Two Ways................
You can take one change at one time so that u can get some good responce from the employees (this will give u sme change on them)
onces u recive this, then take other one ( take some small taks first) CHANGE COME FROM INSIDE TO OUT
once this is done then make some small task committe ane engage ur followers in that as an incharge of that thing for perticular department. (due to this they will follow ur words).
it will reduce ur burdone as well.
Even i m new in this field of HR working from last 5 months, but lucky enough not to face this kind of problem.
Start apriciating others so that others can recognize ur work

Dear Siri,
You Did a good Job. But I hope u r in hurry. again n again u implement the law. but in actual first u favour labour ( but first take management in favour) then Implement 1 law, second law. then again give some facility to employee. again implement 2-3 law.
than in my view employee cant make objection.
Please mind Changes is a continious process .

i appriciate your time sense. Which make you to reach the hights.
it means as of ur decision that you want to quit the job once you implement all the rules and regulations inyour company. once it is done automatically people wont lose them who are punctual at work and making others to be punctual. are you clear of this concept.
Iam saying this because i had undergone this situation and now i did the same what i said and am free now.
Every one is following the rules in my company.
One thing to say Dont lose your confidence levels.

Hi Srini,
Always there is an another face. When you think about to bring discipline, why don't you think to take up the employee welafre (What is not available) and do some help for the needy person. If you start doing this, I am sure employees will love with HR managers and you will like to be in HR Department.
Mr Mahesh Sharma rightly pointed out that, HR Managers are not only for calculating salary. We will have to fight with Management for the Welfare and to bring labour productivity to with the Management. I am not saying here all the benefits, atleast what ever they are eligible legally and mhumanity background.
In Tamil there is a proverb " Eduppar Kaipillai" you decide you want to be like eduppar Kaiplillai or as a reasonble and loyal HR manager.
Please note, HR position should be handled in nutral way we should be loyal to both employees and Management.
I was also facing such period in my life, but I feel proud to be in HR department.

I really proud to join this site, actuall I got a lot of understanding and experience, mostly I real appreciate for the Srini replies, because even myself I had stacked when I ready this topic,but now I realise if you introducing system, it should be done and communicated in participative way and make evaluation to understand reponds before becoming a culture af a company/ organization, this could make employees and employer aware of the change, so they could not be surprised.

Dont worry you have many HR people who will share your sentiments. Iam in a company where Iam the first HR person to be on board. I know people will treat you like an enemy. Be happy that you have made the systems and policies go inside their head thats why they hate us. Here is our real challenge. Do not quit. you are doing a gr8 job
