The awareness we can spread is by film shows, tool box talks.
Communicate the hazards through posters/ sign boards/ pep talks.
Ask the employee to talk about the safety to be taken.
We should make our employees to learn that safety is for them and they are going to gain on it......

Dear Jai,
It is along time that you posted your need. Though I registered as member long back, I was not very active. I saw your post today only. I passed my Diploma in Chem .Engg in 1977 and then started working for chemical factories in Guajrat. In 1982, I got involved in Trade Union in a medium scale factory employing 200 workers. Soon, my interest grew in Health and safety at work and with some of the friends I established a group to work to generate awareness on OHS. In 1992 I established Peopels Trg & Research Center and since 1998 I work full time for the organization. You may visit our website for more information:Welcome to PTRC. I passed my Diploma in Ind.Safety in 1989 and was promoted to work as Safety Officer in the same factory. Kindly let me know how can I help you.Pl.see a picture I have posted on my page which is a case of a worker of a chemical factory suffering from dermatitis - an occupational skin disease.

Dear Sri Jaikumar,
The following methods may also help:
1.Publish Safety Bulletins periodically in the local language apart from English.Every issue may stress upon a single safety aspect eg:shutdown procedure, material handling, height jobs, hazard identification & risk analysis, statuatory requirments/applicable legal requirement etc to name a few.
2.Organise Safety week once in atear in each department by turn.Organise safety related competitions for employees & family members & reward winners.Organise skits/songs having message+entertinment.
3.Safety Awareness Training to all employees to be mede mandatory.
4.when an employee rejoins after a serious injury at workplace,he may be told to analyse the accident and give remedial measures.
5.Material Safety Data Sheet for all hazardous chemicals to be dosplayed promptly.
6.Display first aid procedures prominently for electric shock, gas poisoning, burns etc.
