Hi Friends,

I want your valuable advice for my career. I am a Science Graduate, having a Diploma in IT from NIIT. I am pursuing my MBA (HRM) from Pondicherry University. I am currently working in a Construction company & handling the Recruitment System, Induction programme, Training, Employee queries, HR policies and HRIS. But I have recruited by the IT Director as b’coz the HR department is under him & we both are working for this department. I am working here since October’2006.

Previously I worked in The Peerless General Finance & Investment Co. Ltd as a back office Executive. There I had the experience in Admin and back Office related Job. I have total 6 yrs experience in HR & Admin level. And 2 years relevant experience in HR domain.

Now, I want to change my Job in purely HR domain. I want to be a HR professional. I can relocate anywhere in INIDA.

Can anyone help in this issue so that I can get a good exposure in my career. I want to change my present company now for the Job profile & off course for salary.

Thanks in advance……..

With Regards

Dear Moumita,
May be i did not understand your question properly.
If you are asking for help in terms of finding a job, then there are a lot of posts in this site itself and you can respond to them with your profile. I think that our friends in this site will also help you if they have any vacancies in their organizations.
If you are asking for the approach for finding a job, then you can consider jobs in HR in either Infrastructure or Insurance sectors as you are already experienced in these industry verticals.
You can also post your resume in job sites and i am sure you will find a job pretty soon.

Hi Siva,

Thanks for reply.

For your knowledge I am giving the details about me and my company so that I can get suggestions from you,

I am presently working in a Construction Company since October’2006 having 450 Crs turnover and near about 400 employees in all over India. We have a Personnel department and they are used to handle salary, compensations, Leave, Final settlement, PF, Taxes etc.

But in terms of HR, it’s a vast subject as I understand. Now, here I have tried to implement some policies. But soon, I found that our management is not so much aware & interested of it very muchas if they know that Personnel & HR is same terms. Though here is some personnel who are ready to help me to establish a proper HR department. And for that I have to prepare the papers on HR need in our company.

1. What are the points I should take care at the time to prepare theneeds of HR department here?

I have completed my 1St SEM in MBA. I am a Science graduate and having almost 2 yrs experience in HR especially in Recruitment, Training & Induction programme.

2. Is my Experience & qualification enough to get a job in HR?

My designation is “Executive (IT)”.

3. Will it be a matter to get Job in HR? But I am not related to IT department as I am totally involved in Recruitment, Training, Induction, solving employee’s queries about HR policies, Attendance system.

4. Or should I wait till completion of my MBA?

5. If I stay here, what should I have to do to establish the needs ofa HRM?
