Thanks Archna for the reply!!!!!
but that still doesnt answer my questions :?:
Definitely the views expressed to justify whether its a difficult task or a challenge might help me understand how to go about accepting the difficult job as a challenge.
Cheers
Sona.

Dear All, I strongly belive Retention is a challenge, because you really have to sit and analyze what is driving away and what is making them stick to organization.

In my opinion retention is definitely a challenge. How you identify, analyze, approach and find solution may be a difficulty.
As a HR person if you make sure that the employees are satisfied, if you provide them with appropriate monetary as well as non monetary benefits, understand their need of growth, identify their capabilities and enhance and influence them, guide them to achieve then the employee retention for the most part is taken care of.
All in all I think a HR Manager should have a rapport, understanding with the employees.

hi
it is definitely a challege. It is an art. It becomes easy if you know how to read peoples mind. When you understand their needs you can try to keep them with you. That all works the way you regard the human values.

Organisations are as good as their employees, and the converse is true. The HR manager left on his/her own can do little to stem high turnover. If the oranisation has poor people management approaches, then turnover can be high. However,a good retention/talent management policy which is synchronises with the rest of the HR policies can help. Its a challenge AND NOT THAT DIFFICULT! :D
