as of now there is no hierarchy structure. we are in the process of recruiting the staff & the management. can i get some idea about organisation structure and also the HR policies of a limited company.

As per making an organisation structure is concern u need to find out the HOD's and the subordiantes to those HOD. and taking consideration ito those HOD you can draw an organisation Structure.In excel there is an option of Drawing Org Str. u may use that optionn or you can draw it manually.give me your personal mail id . i will send you a format of drawing Organisation Str. ( As i m not able to post it on this forum)

you would need to mention the type of industry you are. Organisation stryucture need not to be what you are but it is what you should be. The second important part is it is based on role and responsibilty martrix which also dictates grade structure.

but this type of organisation chart i prepared but my boss wants an organisation which will help in recruiting the staff. its a tea trading industry. the first of its kind.

I understand its a Tea Industry.Now The structure might be like this Management(MD,CFO,etc).Then follow different divisions--- If Production(Quality-Tea Buyer,Tea Taster etc)...
Sales & Marketing(Packaging,Advertising, etc...Marketing-Includes Branding, etc)
I am just giving you an idea and I am sure you can build on it..

Head of Unit at Top, Than Head of Depts , Than Section Heads like that u draw the picture, after checking from each department reporting & relationships.You can use powerpoint for this.

We have bad experience about organisation chart using excel. If one has large org. structue it will be almost unvisible and difficult to maintain it lateron. Can you suggest some new idea for that. My email id
Given that base OS should be capable of working on CORE processes, the OS needs continuous review depending on the Organization's strategy - since organization must be capable of achieving it's strategic goals and must allocate resources to achieve it. e.g. If the organization wants to increse it's sales through geographical expansion of distribution network - the Marketing Department has a different objective. If quality is to be improved, the Quality deprtment needs to be focused on. If the organization is prone to thefts - controls and administration play a major role. Parallel to strategic consideration is the capability to serve the customers by efficient core processes - the OS should cater for less boundries in the process - so that major work could be done in sizable deprtments with just one manager. Flat organizations are better for smaller organizations.

We as a consulting company design OS for many clients. We use a model called NiMble Organization Chart Test - an overview is enclosed.

i am working with a "TEA TRADING COMPANY" with huge existence in South (Coonor).
as of now recruitment process is going on and no defined organisation structure is there.
