I have been stuck with my resignation and joining in a new company from last 2 months initially i was skeptical about my resigning as i had 2 months notice period and i had to resign and join some other company in 15 days time so i took time gave interview and got selected .
I resigned from my present company and asked them to release me in a month time which was Ok with my manager as our project was over.Tomorrow happens to be my last day in this company and since i am not serving 2 months notice period my co is deducting my 1 month salary from Full n final settlement which as per norms should be only 1 month basic salary and they are informing me about this today.Other co i am joining on monday is still undecided about buying my notice period .Please advice me what should i do now

what your appointment letter says whether it is two month notice or one month notice which u have already served.if it is two month than can deduct and if it is one month they can not deduct your salary.

Hi I have served 31 days notice period but as far as my understanding is i thought they would deduct my basic pay not the whole salary

Hi Aarti,
Check ur employee manual. Notice Pay differs from company to company. Some deduct just basic pay while others deduct net salary etc.
As far as deduction is concerned, request ur manager to waive off the remaining one month of notice period since the project is completed.

Every company has a different policy - some deduct on basic and some on the gross salary. Check the policy at your company.
You should have got an email confirmation from your new employer on the notice buy-out. If they have verbally committed to you, they should stick to it. If they don't it reflects the ethics of the company.

Hi Aarti,
The deduction would be only as per the clause mentioned in the appointment letter, which you would have already signed with ur existing employer. It cannot be extended later on withour your consent. so check it out in your appt. letter. if it is two months notice, then they have the right to deduct your one month's salary towards the short notice period.
