If you are sure that your claimis submitted in January 2008. it is high time that your money is credited into your bank account directly. If not you must take a trail of your claim. First find out which PF office is your nodal office BANDRA/KANDIVALI/THANE.
Approach yr Previous Company's Consultant. OR Visit the site www.epfindia.com go to epfo directory try the Commissioner's Number given against the respective name.

Hi Vivek,
I would advice you to transfer your Old Pf amount to your new account.Make a point that PF should always be set for your dependents may be for your mother, wife and your children. It is the saving made for your family members and it can be very useful by the days to comeby. You can take loans on your PF and also the best rate is offered by the PFO than any other banks. So, my sincere advice would be to transfer the amount once the previous employer furnishes all the details.
