Can someone please help me out as to how the below sal structure has been devised n what is the breakup % used??

Your monthly CTC is taken as 18,000 pm
Basic is 6,000 (Fixed)
HRA is 3,000 (50% of basic)
Conv. Allow 800 (Fixed)
Edu. Allow. 200(Fixed)
Special allow. 6280 (Balancing Amount to make it 18,000 pm)
LTA-Monthly share paid annually 500(1 Basic annually)
Medical- Monthly share paid annually 500(1 basic annually)
PF (12% of basic) 720 (Employers share)
Total Monthly CTC 18,000 (Add all components)

Hi,
In an ideal salary breakup
Basic should be 40% of total CTC
HRA should be 40% of Basic
Conveaynce should be Rs. 800/-
Canteen Allowance 10% of Basic
Medical Allowance Rs. 1250/-
LTA upto Rs.3000/-
Other will be adjusted
PF 12% of Basic
Bonus 8.33% of Basic
Graduity and other banifits like super annution etc. should not be incorporated in CTC. If u have any other confution please contact me.

thanks both of u......its just that there are so many ways of calculating a salary breakup......diff companies use diff percentages of Basic, HRA, DA etc etc hence it can get a bit confusing........is there an industry standard or a guideline as to what all components in what percentages are to be considered???

Hey can u guys tell me whetherr we should try to keep the basic salary and HRA as high as possble or not in slary breakup??. I have 22K as special allowances and basic is only 30% of total package which incudes VA/performace part. I am asking frm tax perspective. Thanks..
