15th august, 26th january, 1st may are compulsory holiday. and if there is any festival and u want to give extra than you can give
and there are min 8 p.h. you should give as per your regions festivals.

From India, Ahmadabad
The holidays applicable to a company is purely an internal matter. Such matters are decided by the management and if there is standing orders, naturally, the list of holidays will be mentioned in the standing orders itself. However, 26th Jan, 15th Aug and 2nd Oct are public holidays which are mandatory. If your employees are willing to work on all other days except sundays (or on one weekly holiday) you can have only these three holidays in a year. In general, holidays are given depending upon the regional festivals and taking in to account religious sentiments.

Hi

Private Limited or Public Limited or Partnership firm or Propreitorship firm.... it ios immaterail for deciding the number of Holidays.

1. Central Govt and State Govt officed will follow the Holidays declared by the Govt as Public Holidays.

2. Banks will follow Holidays declared under the Negotiable Instryments Act

3. All others need to follow the National and Festival Holidays Act applicable in their respective States

National Holidays

Republic Day, Independance Day and Gandhi Jayanthi are declared as National Holidays in all States In Tamilnadu and Kerala May Day is also declared as National Holiday. In karnataka Rajayotsava Day is decxlared as National Holiday. Most States have 4 National Holidays. If one os these days falls on Sunday and a declared Holiday, you still declare this National Holiday and it need not be compendated with another Holiday

Festival Holidays

There are generally 5 days in many States. Kerala has 7 or 8 days declared as Festival Holidays. These days will be decided every year and the festivals can be decided by the Management in consultation with employees/union.

Minimum total will be 9 in States like Tamilnadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Delhi and Maximum is 12 as in Kerala.
