The latest trends in recruitment and selections are through campus placement, consultancies, references, job portals etc.
to find the right person for the right job and retain them is the biggest challenge recruiters are facing.

The latest trends in recruitment are: Job portals, references, mapping, headhunting, consultancies, e-communities, job postings, mass mailings, and of course internal database.
  • how technology has effected the recruitment and selection?
See with the increase in technology, it has become easier to approach the candidates in cost effective. We can find candidates from all over the world at a single mouse click. further internet and ofcourse telecommunications has given a broad base to freshers to enter the market without the fear of facing the interviews directly making it easier for them to find a pace of time to actually face a PI.
  • what are the challenges faced by recruiter these days?
Major problems faced are non- turning up of candis. at the time of PIs, further backing up at time of joining, wrong References. this not only maintains the vacancy in the organization but also consumes a lot of time and money.
Yes Attrition is also arising as one of the major problems to HRD.
  • How to overcome those challenges?
well talk in lenght with the candidate in case it is a telephonic or a personal round. this would actually help you 2 kw whether the candi. is really interested or its a timepass for him. further more while talking to him try to look out wat is lackin in this current org. that makes him look for a change. keep your ears open to all answers even family background answers, they may provide to sufficient info about their behavior and their attitude which is an imp. criteria for any job.
  • How recruiter can cut the cost of recruitment and selection process?
the above can be seen for the same thing. infact instead of having too many job portals try sharing with some other firm, or may be some corporate who donot require access to job portal that frequently. Further i believe telephonic rounds should not be compromised at any cost. onle those people willing to take a serious move shud be asked to come for a PI.

Theres no word as Unemployment, its the people of right calibre to be made available to the right position, at a right time.

The question is not completed. ‘Recruitment’ in what level? There are different criteria for different level of recruitment. While job portal is for common level, poaching / head hunting for Sr. Level etc.

For common recruitment, lateral recruitment IT has helped a lot. Job portal saved time and money for recruiter.

HR has the only challenge these days, thatis the 'talent acquisition'. Getting a right person in right place, moreover replacement for the key position is the difficult task handle by any HR manager of any organization. In the fastest growing economy with changing lifestyle organizations are failed to retaining people.

Organization has to understand what will be the deliverable of the profile. What is exact job profile? This is the first issue to be freezed rather than recruitment. Pay right to the right person commensurate to his/her experience, qualification, key skills and track record. Another important aspect is that to find out an answer of why the recruitment is not avoided.
HR should think the proper way of employee engagement issue.

Attrition! Changing lifestyle attracts people to quit job for betterment in monetary prospect. People are changing job in less than a year time frame. Devoted, quality wise good, sincere employees are keen on learning aspects of job. These categories of people are getting lesser day by day.
