I was too worried about the Tax return filing this year. I was confused with the launch of CPC. I was wondering, if I need to send the return to CPC, or submit the same in the local IT office.

I agree. But I think the process that they have highlighted is not the updated one.
Now I think you need to send the IT return to the CPC, Bangalore Office.
Thats a worry again. If they do not receive your IT return within 30 days of your Tax filing online you will have to send it again.
