Thanks Siva
I have spoken to the HR and my project Manager its not for me i dont see any project coming in this company. On top of it they fired around 400 employees last month it was a headlines. The company would have no objection in paying me without but since i cannot still ideal i wanna make my move just thinking too much about my smooth departure as i have seen people serving here 2 months notice as they told Project Manager that they have good opportunities outside which was taken seriouly by the management and they were forced to serve for 2 months as they were in need to releiving an Exp letter.I am really very confused.Even my onsite manager has resigned last year so i will have to deal with PM in india which is more difficult

Hi Aarti,

As per the response you received I am sure you are now more confused about what to do.

According to me follow "Worst case scenario method and prepare to face that.", you cannot make every one around you happy, If you do so, you will never be able to decide.

Work out what would be the worst situation on every step involve and prepare yourself as to how will you face that, what else are the options and so on. No one can tell you the correct decision; you yourself have to decide, what is the best step for you.

I am sure whatever you decide after this will have a clear picture ahead, you will face obstacle but you will easily sail over it as you have already prepared yourself for it both physically and mentally.

Best of Luck.

Thanks
Sajid

Hi Aarti,

Do keep us posted on the developments. Most of us understand your position and am sure there are so many like you around, all victims. We all have sailed out of this type of a situation, as said by Sajid, we have taken decision based on the situation, fully prepared for the worst.

At this point, I can only suggest you to keep yourself relaxed. Think aloud of the options available and most important have faith on your self. Read below:
When times are tough

When everything is broken, it's easy to find plenty of things you can fix. When nothing seems to be going right, even the most basic positive effort can make a noticeable difference. Times of great difficulty and challenge are also times of great opportunity. When there are problems in every direction, there is also much value waiting to be created.
When all is going well, it's easy to get lulled into a sense of complacency. It's easy to forget how truly capable and resourceful you can be.
Difficult times are not much fun. Yet they can give you great and valuable insights into what's truly important.
There is much to be gained when times are good. There is even more to be gained when times are tough.
Resolve to persevere and grow stronger through whatever difficulties may come. For though the difficulties will eventually end, the treasures they compel you to create can often last a lifetime.

HI Arti,
4m my point of view ..
First give the resignation
Go to senior mgmt and talk about ur workprofile here ...as ur free from long time and ask them for pre reliving u from ur job.If they r agree then go n change ur job else if u think the new job is better go for that n paid for 2months here..:)

Hi Aarti,

I have read all suggestions and i sure some might have turned as morale boosters for you. One of my collegues in present organization had faced the same scenerio and passed through it successfully. Note down following steps

- Call HR of the company from where you have offer letter, tell them if they could extend your notice period as you may take few more days to get relieving from current employer.

- Dont explore your existing problems with them, just say; you need to impart your knowlege to new hire/ anything reflects acceptable as genuine reason

- Tender your resignation by saying you have nothing concrete to do and learn from present profile and you wish to leave

- Talk to your manager before it and assess the situation how worse it might turn as.

- Speak up align with managers or seniors

- If situation turned down worse then approach senior managment straight forwardly. Senior management members do not want anybody to stay without productivity or with no tasks, they have big head for expenses and they actually wish if employee leaves with his own will. Take this action in case of no solution from mangers.

Few guidelines

- look at notice period clause in your appointment letter, read and understand what it says

- If there is option to pay for notice period and leave then proceed with it at very first step.

- May be you have option to adjust the notice period with paid leave balance, find out if it is there.

Dear arti, no one can stop you to leave the organization without your consent and no one can force you to serve notice period unless you accept it. Never nod your head against evil and misconduct, face it as challenge.

Follow my advice step by step and i am sure it will work for you.

Best of luck

Taru
