Hi HR21stCentury,

Grand welcome to the forum and it is my pleasure to answer your first query on this forum and hope this site proves to a be a great learning experience for you as it has been for many of us!!..

I would like to get inputs on your relocation policy and transportation policy for salesmen.

relocation policy:

1. rationale for this policy

A : Relocation cost or rather policy is required to meet the transfer expenses of the new employee or existing employee..with respect to transfer as per the Business or to join your company..

2. on the average how much do you offer?

It all depends some companies have fixed limit across the levels and it is more rational to factor the actual costs like:-

a. Cost of transportation of household goods by road

b. Cost of travel from the existing place to proposed place of posting for the person & his family.

c. Cost incurred in setting up the household at new place.

On an average we pay about Rs 70 - 100 K ( Indian Rupees) appox

Here we also provide for the deposit of the house as interest free loan recoverable in 12 to 18 months.

3. Conditions

It is paid on actuals on subject to production of the bills & supportings.

If the person quits say less than a year the amount spent as above is to be recovered say in proportion to the period served from his full n final settlement.

Also it is better to have a clear cut estimates for the above expenses at the time of finalisation of negotiations.!!

Transportation policy for sales:

1. Rationale

2. Average transportation allowance for a salesman using his own car.

3. Average transportation allowance for a salesman using company provided car/car plan.

4. How many litters of gas allowed?

5. Who defines this?

Again this country specific but in general we pay Rs 4 - 5 / km if one uses own car for official use or the company provides the car with full responsibility for maintainence of fuel & driver who is expected to maintain the logbook to prevent the misuse and separate the official & personal trips.

Hope this has cleared some of your doubts..

Have a great day!!

Regards,

Rajat
