Hi Roopesh, Do not even listen to this person. Being a senior person in the sales team he should know his responsibilities. Even if you take him on contract, what is the guarantee that he will not do the same again? Allowing him to continue will also set a bad example for others and you will finally end up in running a rehabilitation centre. So, just sack him with intimation to police, family clearly stating the reason for your action. If required give a legal announcement stating “ his employment stands cancelled due the act of ……..”. regards,

Hey Dear Though I am working with a recruitment company only but i have a solution in mind hope it works and even if you dont like it do give a feedback of it.... Just tell that person that you have to find a job within 15 days and sign your resignation letter and in the meantime you can find a job somewhere else too... but after that the company will be forced to issue a termination letter which will leave you standing nowhere..... You have to be stern and diplomat as wid dis ans the ball will be in his court leaving him no option but to resign..... Hi Roopesh, As said by Sree and Jiya, please dont be emotional and take a decision which is in the interest of the company. And as far as the suicide threat is concerned, it seems that the perosn must have used this trick somewhere else also. You dont worry as you have done your job by informing the police about it. Would just like to add that keep his family informed about all this. Swati

hi What a difficult situation!! I think you are going in the right direction by complaining to nearest police station. Inform his family members about the plight you are into and what made you take this decision of terminating him. I dont think he shoulkd continue work with your company... I havent come accross a situation like thais and it was a great learning opportunity... thankyou for your post.. Do let us know the later developments on this issue Asha

Hi, I suggest you to terminate his services immediately and send a copy to his home because he is now under suspension. you had informed his blackmiling in the police station limits, so there is no need to scare about him. But we should not allow such people to work in a company even knowing about him. Face boldly whatever will be the consequences. Regards Kirubakaran.

I think you should consult a lawyer and then decide what needs to be done. If you let this thing happen once even others would do the same and would use the same weapon to balckmail the Employer. It is good that you have already informed the police about this thing. But it might be his family pressure which he wants to shift the blame to you poeple(company), you never know the actual reason for his this kind of statement.

Hi, Don't mix the emotions in your professional life. Let him make aware the reality and u can go to higher ups in your org. With every consultation's you make take a legal action and even can go to police.
