Hi Swati ...
That is a very good idea.
The members could have our own personal 'CiteHR Summit' out there in the Summit.
Another thing is that all those members who attend could post the happenings at the summit, the kind of seminars / presentations / talks that occur , their learnings , their observations etc on Cite HR for the benifit of all the members.
Hey CHR ....
You could create a separate section under which all these happenings at the Summit could be posted. This would be a new kind of initiative on CiteHR .... Maybe have a section called EVENTS and then this summit can become a Sub-section or something like that. Please look into the feasibility of this so that we can gain benifits from all such HR Events

Hi Sho00onya,
The section already exists. I have renamed it to make it more obvious and relevant for such postings. A CiteHR Summit is a great idea but we can have it once we have enough members or it'll be impossible to get sponsors for such an event and unless such arrangements are made it'll be difficult and it won’t be a grand affair [and I don’t quite enjoy mediocrity]. It'll also probably require a full management team to organize such an event. We can look into it perhaps a year from now once things are a bit more steady and we can attract enough members to participate in such an event.
Regarding discussions on seminars and summits, it’s a great idea and I hope members who attend the summit will let us know how it went. We can create topic on such individual summits but a subsection can be created once we have enough material for such a section.

HRM Summit >> Introduction

Great organisations achieve sustainable growth and profits because they do what other organisations don't: They maximize the innate, individual talents of their employees to connect with the customers. These companies create an environment in which their best performers can do what they excel at, over and over again. The employees get tuned to what they are doing, and thus become extremely effective at responding to the needs of the customers. When engaged employees utilize their natural talents, they provide an instant and constant competitive edge.

Across the globe, this growing awareness has led to a new alertness towards the profound impact of human nature at the workplace. Human Resource Management today has become an important component of any organisation's growth strategy. Unleashing talent and creating winners is not an easy process. It requires a lot of sensitivity and empathy on the part of a manager to understand what makes an individual in his/her team 'tick'- to help push them to new heights of performance and consequently, customer engagement and retention.

Confederation of Indian Industry's fifth HRM Summit 'Igniting Minds: Building Achieving Organisations’ on May 6-7, 2005 at Hotel Maurya Sheraton, New Delhi is an attempt towards preparing the industry to face globalisation better and emerge as leaders in their respective area of operations by maximizing the use of their talent pool.

SUB – THEMES OF THE SUMMIT

Engaged People: Driving up Customer Delight

Without having a set of engaged employees, who are psychologically committed to their workplace, it is impossible for an organization to create a strong base of loyal customers.

This session will include presentations from organisations that have witnessed the power of increase in 'employee engagement' on 'higher customer loyalty' leading to better 'business outcomes'.

Pervasive Leadership: Using Power of Role Models and Communication

Organisational culture is nothing but a reflection of the vision and values of corporate leadership, which is reflected in each and every management process and policy.

This session will include presentations on how effective leaders lead from the front. It will focus on how the leadership's commitment and foresight has turned around organisations and helped in marching ahead of competition in the challenging market.

Igniting Minds: Fun and Celebrations at Work

More and more organisations are trying to introduce the element of 'fun' at the work place, encouraging informal interactions among their employees, thus creating 'great teams' which constantly work to excel in their field. The interactive session will look at examples where organisation leaders have used this concept effectively in making people more productive at work.

Performing People & Achieving Organisations: Power of Positive Psychology

In order to maximize the potential of an employee in the organisation, it is imperative to utilise his/her inherent talents, rather than focusing on an individual's weaknesses and trying to rectify them through constant feedback/training. This session will include presentations where companies have used this concept effectively in bolstering the performance at the workplace.

Innovation & Learning: The New Baselines of Competitive Performance

Organisations can build and sustain competitive edge only by institutionalising a culture of learning and innovation within the workforce and by leveraging intellectual capital. The most successful organisations encourage their workforce to enhance upon their existing skill sets. This session will focus on how organisations have achieved success by building upon and leveraging their intellectual capital.

Creative Recruitment and Compensation Strategies

The biggest challenge that corporate leadership faces today is to align peoples’ skills to the organisation's competency and to align individuals goal to corporate objectives. This session will include examples on how organisations have used recruitment and compensation to attract and retain the best talent.
