Hello friends,

Please find below some tips for attending an interview. Although a lot of material is available in theis subject on the net also.

Introspect on your STRENGTHS as a person and also your knowledge. Try to link how your strengths, [ knowledge, skills and attitude will be useful for the position]

You would be able to perform HR activities related to brining people together to form teams, taking care of various requirements,

Developing recognition and reward systems.

You can also mention about your computer literacy and ability to work in teams/ work with others.

As regards your personal strengths – you may be able to highlight strengths of detail orientation, quality concisuosness, diligence, problem solving attitude, analytical ability ,ability to learn new things, ability to take up new initiatives, ability to communicate with people [ as the case may be] you may not have all these but certainly you have some of these and you and you can project those strengths honestly.

Some of the questions that you need to prepare are:
  • <LI class=MsoNormal style="mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1">Tell us about yourself – you should be able to tell in 5-6 sentences about your name, qualification, family details very brief . <LI class=MsoNormal style="mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1">What are your strengths? You should be able to list 3-4 strengths and if required should be able to give examples <LI class=MsoNormal style="mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1">What are your weaknesses? <LI class=MsoNormal style="mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1">What are the subjects you liked in your studies? And why? <LI class=MsoNormal style="mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1">Why do you think you are suitable to work in HR function <LI class=MsoNormal style="mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1">What do you think is role of HR manager? <LI class=MsoNormal style="mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1">What is the salary / remuneration you are expecting?
  • How long will you stay with the company if selected – [ be honest and ensure that whatever you promise is reasonable and you will be able to deliver as per promise]
During the interview – be relaxed and do not look away form the person who is asking the question. Always maintain continuous eye contact with the interviewer [ I do not mean you STARE at him – but do not look away !! J]

If you are not sure what question means – please say that “Please pardon me – but I have not understood the question”
If you do not know the answer – say that “ I am sorry – I do not have answer to this question”

If you are not sure – You may say –“ I am not very sure but probably the answer is ……………”

Be confident, honest and fearless yet POLITE. "Be yourself"
