Hi ,
There are many good universities which offer PhD programs.
I'm also doing PhD from IIT Delhi.
Yes, Dear you are required to do your home work before approaching the Guide. Decide on a good topic and draft your synopsis, for which any professor or asst professor can help.
Once the synopsis is ready it still takes 3-6 months to get the approval for the topic.
So, be sure of the material and read lots of books, journals, magazines, articles and search on net.
Happy Searching :)

Hi,
I have the same doubt as Poorna. I have finished my PGDBA from Symbiosis Institute Pune through distance education and am interested in doing my Ph.d in HRM next year. I need some information regarding the universities which offer a Ph.d in HRM in India and also if the PGDBA certificate holds good in this case. I have been working for the past 5 yrs with experience in 2 reputed MNC's. Kindly clear my doubt as soon as possible.
Thanks and Regards
Nisha :)

hi babita, nisha and shruti

i add the following :

1. pgdbm is eq. to mba as per AICTE latest orders but it is applicable to only few univ. which runs distace learning education due to lack of awareness. first of all u have to check this eq. status of ur education.

2. u hv to submit synopsis this is req. in most of the univ. i m already in possion of many thesis on diff. areas of HR for ready reference which guide me a lot in formulasing my own synopsis/ thesis. u all pl. visit ur nearby univ. and procured the relevant material tactfully and share among the team members.

3. i m also in the process of getting enrolled in some good univ. and waiting for the call from IMT Ghaziabad. by the way i hv already got enrolled at CCS Univ. for PhD but this is just a makeshift arrangement.

my topic if 'knowledge management and the HRD implications' which is a very wide area of coverage so i suggest that all of u can customise this topic / synopsis as per ur req. / area of work.

4. we don't hv any competition and also will enroll in diff. univ. so we can do it on sharing basis as a team work.

pl. keep in touch.

with best regards
