Hello everyone,

I am working in an IT company, we have around 50 employees, as recruitment is very fast in my company, the no.of employees are also increasing at a rapid pace.

I found that with the increase in no. of employees, it becomes very tough to contact each employee and interact with him/her.

In this regard only, i have started sending motivational mails to all my employees. I have started with sending short motivational stories.

I found the following advantages of these mails :
1. Employee feel associated with the company
2. This also shows that HR is concerned towards their employees.
3. These short stories are really good, so it helps other to be motivated.
4. Employees shows interest in contacting HR.

I am getting good response from my employees, they send me mails in response, which is motivating for me too.

I have started this on every Monday, as it is good for starting a week. and this way i am able to interact indirectly with my employees and wish them "good morning and have a nice week ahead".

In addition to this try to interact with each employee of my company through skype which we use officially to interact, this also gives me a positive response.

I feel interacting with employees regarding their problem and solving them in return is quite time taking but it is really good.

I have shared my vies and suggestions, i am awaiting for your response and feedback for the same. and if by any means it can be more effective please let me know. Lets share some more initiatives.

Good thought shweta, as this really helps in creating a rappo with your employees. It gives them a lot of motivation, which generally we miss out in a large set up. regards, Naindeep.

ur absolutely right swetha good going and the wonderful thing abt this is they are liking it and sending u responses so why dont u carry on with it atleast if two or three can get motivated it will help a lot to ur organisation and that will indiretly help u

Iam working as HR in a company which has 250 employees..And every morning i send them the Good morning mails.. and you will not believe the response i get is amazing..People come and tell how good they find the good morning msgs and it is also motivating.. And when iam not there at work..They mail me and ask me why the mail was not sent.
To the employees it gives good feeling that HR is sending these mails..which is nice.. I think you should send them Good Morning Mails..

The practice that you are introducing is an excellent way to make your employees more motivated. But, on can always do more. The way I see it, your are in good advantage as you mention having 50 employees which is not a huge number should you compare it to much larger companies. From my view your e-mails can really do a lot. You have probably heard of Transformational leadership. One of its provisions is that it requires leader to approach each employee as an individual. So, from the top of my head the most basic way of letting them know you care is to know sth about them, for example birthday and send greeting cards on that day, in case they have kids to ask about them, remember their names and in general show genuine interest in their personal lives. Because, by doing that you actually show that you care about them and trust me you would be surprised what improvement you will see in their work.
Furthermore, the most important e-mail you can send them in order to make them more motivated is feedback on their work. And that is where 50 employee advantage really kicks in. By providing regular feedback you are showing them not only actual interest in what they do, but you are also helping them to improve, which is beneficial for you, your employees and the organization as a whole. Donít be afraid to give criticism, as long as you do it in not so harsh way (you can check internet on positive criticism techniques), because research shows that sometimes criticism achieves more that praise. In any case you will be receiving precious information from your employees as a result of these feedback mails which will help you get important information on the company.

I think that spreading positive words and thought impact on employee's happiness and morale level which lead to high performance and achievements. so I will share my experience about this topic. as we start the working week with Sunday, we have internally in the HR department an initiative conducted every Sunday morning called " Sunday inspirations meeting". in this meeting we share our weekend experience in order to build and strength the relationship between HR team. Also, the HR Director give some tips to start our week on positive way. this what we do internally within HR Department.

I dont know what you guys are talking about. I am an engineer and my hr sends me these emails every week, and it is so annoying. I know you hr guys like to pretend like you are running the company, but take your motivational stuff and constant advising elsewhere.
