Dear Members,
I am a recruitment consultant based at Pune. Like all of you who are deep into recruiting would have faced the problem of no-show candidates, candidates not joining after signing the offer letters, leaving before the 3 months time & creating stiff tensions between the client and the consultants.
I personally feel that we consultants & recruiters should have a board, wherein we can black list such candidates, who are no-shows or don't join or use fake CV's..............
this may help stream line our recruiting processes.........
i welcome your suggestions & ideas, to clear up this ever increasing mess......which is a drag for even our productivity

I accept with you to an extent, but not completely.
Candidates can choose an offer and it is their right to choose that matches their aspirations. We need to accept that as long as they are tranparent and tell us in advance about the other offers.
But coming to no shows for interviews, it shows a complete lack of respect for the recruiter, as they tend to take esay as we are calling for a CONSULTANCY.
We might not be able to completely black-list them, as they behave completely different when contacted by a corporate.
Fake profiles should be black-listed as even the corporates would be galdto do so. So for this case we probably can have a board or page we can all list them.
Let us invite others as well to come up some ideas on this.
Looking forward to more ideas / opinions on this.

I also agree with you, but then candidates who try to have more than one offer letter in their hand & try to play around bargaining with companies needs to be done in a more delicately.....how can we account for people who apply for the same position that is open for a long time, & then never show up time & again... there was a female who called & set an interview with my client not once not twice, but 3 times in a month & never came for it...........such candidates also need to be blacklisted as they waste our precious time, everytime they contact us........

and yes they have different responses for different types of calls 2.......if u r calling from a consultant, you are useless( bcoz u call anyone & everyone ) & if you are calling from the company, then you must have spotted the achiever in me.........

People need to realise than some consultants are also very choosy about who they call, we don't do mass mailing for all positions( infact i don't do it for more than 1 position)........

Blacklisting is toxic thinking. First of all, the ra.services is highly un-reasonable. 3 months notice period??? Who on earth wants their employees to serve three months notice period? Do these employers give 3 months severance package on firing thier employees. Very rare... I remember, 15 days to 1 month max was the norm.. Regarding no show of candidates, first of all find out the reason why the person has not showed up either on joining date or for interview. There has to be better reasons.

I remember there was a case when my consultant had propsed me a job at a top networking employer MNC. I gave my consent to this consultant. This consultant asked me suitable timings for the telephonic interview and I gave them my timings which was 3-4 days ahead. I wanted some time to focus on the preparation part. However, the consultant was suppose to confirm the interview timings from the employer side as they were propsed from my side. The consultant for some reasons did not get back to me for next 3 days and all the while I kept asking the consultant on confirming the timing. The consultant use to respond back stating that he is not able to connect to employer and have not received confirmation from the employer yet. On the day of my proposed interview schedule my mobile was switched off due to low battery. At the end of the day I got a mail from this consultant asking for reasons why didn't I take the interview. I informed him that he did not confirm the timings all these days and I was not sure of the interview. I requested him to re-arrange it but the interview did not happen.

After some time, I come to know that the HR of the employer had taken this incident personally even if this company HR was at fault. He had issued some blacklisted comments against my name. and for these reasons, I did not get interview calls from other MNC's during that time. People abuse this networking power to satisfy thier egos.

Spread the moral guidelines among the employees if you want to cut down these occurances.

But for heaven sake become rational and sane by not encouraging and bringing highly evil practices of blacklisting in the industry. These practices can be enormously abused and can have devastating impact of people's lives. Remember, your own someone may get into other side of taker. As you sow, so will you reap!
