Hi all,
I work for a software concern. Can anyone let me know the process of reference checks after we hire a person for our concern. What is the procedure that has to be followed? I have no idea about it.. Can anyone help? Waiting for your feedbacks.

Hi Jayashri,
1. You may want to restructure your reference check process. It is always best to conduct such checks prior to the person joining you organisation.
2. You have a choice of conducting checks by yourself (or by the company hiring the candidate) OR by outsourcing it to companies who specialise in such checks. It is advisable to have atleast the senior joinees of your organisation to go through a check by an external unbiased vendor. They also have a variety of checks you can use.
3. For the checks conducted by yourself or anyone from your HR team, you can verify the following aspects
Performance on the job
Joining & leaving dates
designation
role, salary
reason for leaving (whether he was terminated)
any legal enquiries pending, etc.
