I would request you to read the deinition of "workman" in Sec.2(s) of the I.D Act,1947 and post doubt, if any arises thereafter.

Generally speaking NO. But the nature of job needs to be considered and not just a designation.

designation is not important. if major part of responsibilities are supervisory and salary is lower then limit prescribed under act then only a person can be deemed to be supervisor. otherwise in few matters even manager has been held to be a workman
