Hi,
My query is, if someone send a resignation letter on dtd. 14.08.2015 with a information that his last day of working would be 15.08.2015 as 15.08.2015 is Independence day & 16th is Sunday. In this case what would be effective date of resignation. Please help me in said case.

Praket - What is your company policy? Some state it upfront and unequivocally that any relieving will happen on the said day and if the said day is a holiday, the prior or next working day.

You are allowing him to leave without notice ? If yes, then what difference will the final date make ?

Last date would be 14 august, because 15th and 16th August is holiday. so last working day was 14th august.
