1. Dear member, you can get the information regarding various Central labour laws as applicable in India from the website of Ministry of Labour & Employment, Central Govt. and study the same and try to see whether the same are applicable in your unit and if so, whether compliance being made.
2. So, far as State Labour laws are concerned, you can get the same from the website of labour department in which State your unit is located and see if the compliance of said laws is being made properly in the unit.
3. In case of any specific doubt or question, you can raise in this forum for appropriate comments by the seniors/experienced HR people in this forum.

Dear Deepa ji,

Your superior told you to go through the labour laws and case studies under it.

You are new in the field.

You need to first find out what labour laws are applicable to you and understand main features of the applicable labour law.

Docs related to labour laws are the Bare Act. Purchase it from market (book stall) latest edition. Labour Law Agency comes out with new edition every year. It is not so, labour laws amend every year but advisable to purchase the Bare Acts every year with new edition. I do it. Don't depend on labour department websites or any other websites. You will find all old and out dated version on websites.

You can not read all the Acts overnight. Once you study the main features, you can go through main provisions of the Acts.

You will find tips on the main features and main provisions in every Bare Act in its beginning. Additionally, you can read some guides or Handbooks on labour laws e.g. Labour Laws by SR Samant. You can also go through below given links but check the updates. Keep the Bare Acts handy when you need to refer any update or any section.
