Hello Sri Balaji,

A thought provoking presentation. The background photos are excellent.

Many a truth has been retold in the slides.

However my posting may not be totally in line with all the accolades that have flown as above.

Retiring does not mean totally becoming aloof and be off the main line.

It only means that you are preparing yourself to RE TYRE

for the rest of the journey ahead !!

One slide that advocates eat what you want is not what the Doctor directs. What is forbidden should stay forbidden to get the best of health.

There is no slide on the spiritual / religious / games/ Social dimensions of the society in which we live. All these do a whole lot of good.

What about giving something back to society that gave you so much? Perhaps you could have given at least one slide !

Philanthropy is not to be seen. I am sure you all of you agree with its importance.

What happens to all the knowledge and wisdom that you have gathered all along?

Should it not have a legacy and a beneficiary?

Please ponder over.

With all the good wishes from an experienced (eleven month YOUNG only!!!) ordinary individual befitting the title.

Dear Sri Raghunathan
Many thanks for your analytical and detailed feedback. The presentation has been done by a westerner.Hence spirituality was missing.
In fact your rephrasing RE TYRE is really good. The elders definitely can guide the younger generation with their knowledge.

Dear Sri Balaji,
Many thanks for your quick reply giving your views.
I understand that retirement itself was a legacy left by the British.
To have something rhyming, how about calling RETIREMENT (RE TYRE MENT ?!)
as a tireless tirade against vicissitudes of life !!!

Hello Sri S.R. Balaji,
Incidentally I came across another interesting article on old age blues and ways to
get over them. It runs like a TEN COMMANDMENT list !
The Url Reference is :
When parents give away their money too early | Modern Living, Lifestyle Features, The Philippine Star | philstar.com
I have attached the article also for ready reference.
Some different thoughts are presented. Hope the readers would find this also interesting.
