Dear Sipra,

Excellent ppt. But there are following terms/views which you may like to brood upon.

1) Being awake: What is it? Is it not subjective?

2) Define self esteem not in linguistic jargons but straight that gets understood

3) Healthy ways to build it. If it's construction is built on external factors; it can be destroyed also by same means.

4) Feeling what we deserve vs. thinking what we deserve, defining what is respectable within oneself w.r.t what?

5) Improving unconscious behavior (This is not possible since by its very nature it is unconscious)

6) Increasing those behaviors that are more acceptable by others? (That's an indicator of low self esteem)

7) Raising level of consciousness.. We tend to take this word "consciousness" as if we already know what it is! We need to define it in solid words...,

8) Maslow's hierarchy is for proper existence: It does not say about life.Life is personal, existence is not. Existence really does not need any virtues, life does. Existence need power, superior to your environ.

9) What is self sabotage really? Causes of self esteem that you state in ppt actually affects only those who already have low self esteem by Nature's design. You are correct in large sense of it for an infant getting affected by these causes. But, one also encounters people who actually lived in these causes and came out with a great self esteem. Actually they know it very well & personally.

If you were to translate these concepts to societies at large, nations etc you will realize who has it & what actually forms it. For example, our country India really lacks self esteem. It tries to buffer its' stand by being in mutual dialogue, love of peace..being largest democracy and all that. US has self esteem in a reactionary form; not in responsive form. Chanakya had a great sense of self esteem, so did Henry Ford, US Prez Dwight Eisenhover, Indira Gandhi. Such lessons render us lot of lessons about direct perception of self esteem. Hope you take this in right spirit.

Best Regards,

Harish.
