In light of the 'Food Safety and Standards act, rules and regulations' as notified in August 2011 by the Government of India, onus is on food producers & consumers alike to understand the act & take the appropriate proactive steps in implementing & be compliant.

As industry experts, we at Health First have been closely following the act, interacting with the officials who devised the regulations and creating suitable platforms for effective dissemination of Food Safety statutory provisions and guidelines & assisting the Industry in developing systems driving food safety aspects to the benefit of one and all.

To enable the industry in understanding the law of the act and to help implement the same, we have organized a one day workshop on "FOOD SAFETY AND STANDARDS ACT - 2011" Food Safety Guidelines for Corporate and Industries in collaboration with ISMR (Institute of Safety Management & Research) and in association with The Commissionerate of Food Safety, Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka.

It would be our pleasure in having representatives from your organization as participants at the workshop which would immensely assist your organization in complying with the regulations and ensuring an even better place of food safety management and safer food for consumption. Please do consider this opportunity which would also allow the participants to interact with the officials from the Government, Legal experts and Food Safety specialists.

We invite you and your team for this one day workshop on "FOOD SAFETY AND STANDARDS ACT - 2011" Food Safety Guidelines for Corporate & Industries at Hotel Lalit Ashok, Bangalore on Tuesday, 31st January 2012.

Sir,
Your seminar is over long back. Can you please help me knowing if Registration/licensing is necessary under Food and Safety Standards Act for Canteen in our Company. Our company has strength of 325 persons. We run Canteen as per factories act requirement. We cook food in our canteen kitchen and serve to employees during lunch free of charge. We have employed our own full-time cooking and service staff of presently 10 persons.
Please please guide properly because about the registration/licensing requirement even local offices of FSSAI, Ministry of Health and Welfare are not holding uniform opinions. Please advise if covered under the Act, under which provision we require to get licence/registration for our above stated Canteen.
Thanks and regards,
Janak Soni
