| | MSW has papers in labour legislations while MBA has very limited exposure on this. MSW guys can practice IR & Welfare officers too, while MBA HR may have restricited knowledge in doing so. While MSW has specilisation like child welfare & community development, MBA HR has only one specilisation like HR linked with the course. |

| | In my opinion MBA is too generalistic and gives focus on more than one specialisation in the second year. In MSW though the second year is the year of specialisation there is concentration on one subject matter being HR/Personnel/IR etc and to add to this there is the all important Field Work and Group work in specific companies to experience the practical aspects of the subject. That is the reason it is more relevant to the job assignments that is taken up on completion of the course. Amarendran |

| | The Fresher with a fresh approachIt is very nice see such enthu level..hey Neeru, you seem to be very very passionate about ur job, haan! I really agree with your view that the MBAs seemed to have lost contact with the field...they have a very minimal exposure to the field, and that leads to them having a very idealistic view of the wholle thing...MSW on the other hand has the advantage of having a great amount of field exposure...thus they not only know the real aspects they also know hw to deal with real people..more practical and better rquipped are the MSWs. This even makes them more level headed! What say you, neeru? |
