Chaitanya Reddy Halaharvi
Hi:cool:
Am working as HR executive in an organisation with 3,400 employees working across five manufacturing units and head office. Though huge in operations we don't have good HR practices in place apart from basic pay roll, recruitment, Leave management and certain statutory function which are not good enough for a sucessful organisation.
Now that my management is showing interest in bringing new HR practices, I need your suggestions on improvement and help me in helping my organisation be the best employer.
We are also in the process of designing an Induction manual and Training program, pls give your suggestions, feedback and formats if any.
Thanks in advance
Chaitanya:p

Hi Chaitanya:

The good practices will start with the management and organization policies.

Any organization should have adequate support to HR from the management to implement any new practices which benefits the organization. If the management is supportive, try develop good policies and implement it across the organization for all levels in hierarcy.

Having an Employee Handbook in place is highly useful.

If you already have Handbook just check whether the following policies are captured in your handbook.

Hi Chaitanya,
You may have the following policies, procedures and process in place as helping tool in developing your organisation to next stage..
- Design and improve your development strategies
- Review your MBO policy
- Recruitment Process
- Develop a comprehensive retention strategy
- Define KRA, KPI to every department
- Career planning, Succession planning...
Also i would recommend to have HR manual and employee Hand book
As one of our friend mentioned earlier the list has covered, most of the areas of any HR manual....
Hope this serves the purpose..
