can you pls tel me the difference between vendor management and facility management.I feel vendor management comes under facility management.

Facility management is to ensure that everything is available and operating properly for building occupants to do their work. The facility manager generally has the most influence upon the quality of life within a facility.

Vendor Management is part of Facility Management, it is nothing but a supplier management.

I am new user here, working in chennai for a MNC. There has been issue between facility/office administration department and IT department on who is responsible for maintaining the UPS(uninterrupted power supply) which supplies power to the entire company computers. Wikipedia states facility management is responsible for the all the facility electrical appliances and fixed wiring. Please can someone give me roles and responsibilities of facility/office administration department. Please advice and share your experiences on this.
