Bond.. is it legal in india?????
Hi all i have seen cases where companies are taking bond from freshers experience persons and onsite perons.. what i know about the market 1 freshers: companies are talking bond from the freshers for a period of 2 to 3 years. 2 experience person: bond for a period of 1 year to 2 years. 3 onsite employees: bond for a period of 6 months to 2 years. is it legal to take bond from an employee.. in this was are the companies are not blocking their career growth. please share some views on these.... thanks falguni

Hi i have problem in my organization. we are into a very niche field wherein finding experienced employees is very difficult. we have started taking freshers & training them. but now the problem is these freshers do not stick around for more than 3 or 6 months. we provide them with the training & when they are ready for giving output that is the time when they quit their jobs. so than again we have to start the cycle of recruitment again. my boss has suggested that we make them sign a bond of 1 year. i am not very convinced with this. please help me as to what can be done in this situation & also let me know if anybody has any sample of legal bond. regards samruddhi

Planning to hire freshers & train them. can i get them to sign a bond for 18 months
Hello my company is planning to hire freshers. we will need to invest a fair amount of time money & effort in training & grooming them. hence we would like to have some kind of a bond for say 12 months or 18 months during which the employee cannot leave us. should there be a pressing need to leave the company they can pay a certain amount & leave. can something like this be done? will this be legal? seeking opinions & suggestions from the community. tia

When i joined as a fresher in a s/w company they haven t asked for any bonds from employeeslater when i have worked in the same company for 1.5 yrs they are bringing a rule that all employees including freshers should sign in a 1yr bondagreement and the employer is asking for original mark certificates.how can i break the bond and as i got experience i am getting good offers and due to this bond i am unable to leave the present company. anyone please help me. thanks & regards ram krishnan

Hi i am an hr in an it mnc company. my company makes the freshers sign a bond which simply says that if they do not complete their 1 yr in this organisayion they will have to pay 1.5 lacs to the organisation. one of the employee had signed a bond in our organisation. now the employee on completion of his 3 months has left the organisation. i have a query if we as a company can send him a legal notice and what would be the consequences a company can go through. also wanted to even ask if bonded labour is allowed in india.... pls help.
