Hi All

As per my company policy, an employee is benefited only for 10 days of leave in the first year of joining. This 10 days of leave is not classified as CL,SL or PL.

One of our employee was on leave for 9 days coz of illness. Since he has already taken 5 days of leave, his salary will be deducted for 4 days as LOP. In this case, should i ask the employee to produce the medical certificate or not.

Pls solve ma query.

During the first year of joining, generally, the employees do not get leave with pay except CL as per company norms. Under the Factories Act also earned leave accrues only in the succeeding year. Therefore, you can deduct salary for 4 days.
