Default Tata Communication To Set Up Telepresence Room

Tata Communications (TCL) and Cisco Tuesday announced they would set up telepresence rooms at four offices of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in the country.

The telepresence rooms, the first of their kind in the country, will be set up at CII offices in New Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad

While Cisco will provide the telepresence equipment, TCL will provide the connectivity to link the four CII sites. These rooms will be connected with TCL's proposed international network of rooms in premier locations worldwide.

CII members can avail of the facility on a 'pay-per-use' basis, and help reduce travel while attending more meetings simultaneously, according to TCL Global Enterprise Solutions president Vinod Kumar

"Telepresence rooms will transform the way CII will do business and communicate with its customers, partners and colleagues," said Cisco chief globalisation officer Wim Elfrink.

The agreement for setting up telepresence rooms was signed at the CII national conference in the presence of Finance Minister P. Chidambaram, CII president Sunil Bharti Mittal and CII vice-president K. V. Kamath.
