Dear Nilima,

the procedure for CL is as under -

1) If 12 CL are there that means one CL for every month.
2) However, an employee may avail maximum 3 CL at a stretch.
3) Unavailed CL would lapse at the end of the calender year. it is neither accumlated or enchased.

PL
1) Emlpoyee who joins during the year, working days for eligibility will be reduced propertionately.
2) for becoming eligible for the availment of PL , an emkpyee must have workied for 65.75% days in the total days from his date of joining in that calendar year with the following exceptions -
a) in case of date of joining and date of leaving of an employee falls in the same calendar year.
b) for working out the entitlment of PL for the last year of existing employee, leaving the organisation due to retirment/resignation, termination.

Hope this can help you somewhat to understand the basic calculation.

regards
simrat
