Default How to assess people on 4 Behaviours???

Today, organizations need to make effective employee selection and hiring decisions, Right the first time is the motto. Making a bad hiring decision in employee selection is expensive to an organization. Well constructed employee selection tests and skills assessment can help organizations improve their hiring decisions, increase employee productivity and employee retention.

To be successful, we must make good employee selection and hiring decisions; then work to develop and retain star performers. DISC ia a powerful tool that enables us to accomplish just that.

Do you want know more about DISC ? How to analysis DISC reports to Know your teams better??

Please reply me back with your email ids.

Thanks in Advance

Hello Training.India:

>To be successful, we must make good employee selection and hiring decisions; then work to develop and retain star performers.<

I agree 100%, good advice.

>DISC ia a powerful tool that enables us to accomplish just that.<

Yes DISC is a powerful tool for the right application. We use DISC assessments for team work and employee development but not for employee selection since DISC assessments are less effective for identifying future successful employees than are whole person assessments. There is more to job success than what a DISC measures, see below for a list of what our whole person assessment measures for predicting job success.

Ipsative type assessments should not be used for selection according to the Handbook of Psychological Testing, 2nd edition, Paul Kline, Ph.D. If a DISC assessment is Ipsative, it ought not be used for selection. Normative tests are far superior for predicting job success and we use a whole person normative test for selection. For a brief overview of Ipsative assessments please click here.

The whole person assessment we use has 20 scales in three sections as follows.

Quote:
1 - Thinking Styles (5 scales)
- Learning Index ... an index of expected learning, reasoning and problem solving potential.
- Verbal Skill ... a measure of verbal skill through vocabulary.
- Verbal Reasoning ... using words as a basis in reasoning and problem solving.
- Numerical Ability ... a measure of numeric calculation ability.
- Numeric Reasoning ... using numbers as a basis in reasoning and problem solving.

2 - Behavioral Traits (9 scales)
- Energy Level ... tendency to display endurance and capacity for a fast pace.
- Assertiveness ... tendency to take charge of people and situations. Leads more than follows.
- Sociability ... tendency to be outgoing, people-oriented and participate with others.
- Manageability ... tendency to follow policies, accept controls & supervision, work within the rules.
- Attitude ... tendency to have a positive attitude regarding people and outcomes.
- Decisiveness ... uses available information to make decisions quickly.
- Accommodating ... tendency to be friendly, cooperative, agreeable. To be a team person.
- Independence ... tendency to be self-reliant, self-directed, independent action and make decisions.
- Objective Judgement...the ability to think clearly and be objective in decision-making.

3 - Occupational Interests (6 scales)
- Enterprising ... occupations where they use persuasiveness and enjoy presenting plans
- Financial/Administrative ... work with financial data, business systems, admin. procedures, etc.
- People Service ... occupations that help people and they are concerned with the welfare of others.
- Technical ... occupations that center on scientific/technical activities, research & intellectual skills.
- Mechanical ... in occupations that work with tools, equipment and machinery.
- Creative ... occupations where they are imaginative, original and aesthetic.
