Hi,
Welcome to HR world.

The company that I work in, is very strict in the matters of not disclosing the salary details of employees. If any employee is found revealing his salary to others, he/she can be terminated from the company.
I have certain queries pertaining to this aspect:
1. Do all companies follow such policy of non-disclosure of salary/incentives?
|
Salary is a very sensitive issue and most of the times, even with bands and ranges defined for salaries, there is variation depending upon the previous experience, educational background, domain expertise etc. Most of the companies having/not having variations in salary structure issue such policy so that there is no comparison between two professionals. The system has its pro and cons. Maybe HR professionals with more experience may be able to throw some light on this.

2. As an HR executive, working in the HR dept., should I be knowing all the salary details of employees who work here?
|
HR handles all confidential data and salaries are also know to HR professionals in organization. Most of the organizations may have hierarchy as to who has access to information till what level. Maybe, you being in a junior position will not have access right now, but later as you will climb up the corporate ladder, you will.
1 thing i fail to understand is why even we as HR professionals are inquisitive about salaries??? Do we also compare our salary?

3. How much percentage of salary increase is an employee eligible if he has been working in a company for more than a year or two ?
|
This depends upon the company's financial performance and management's decision.
Hope i have been able to clear your doubts and not confuse you all the more!!!
Regards,
Anuradha
