Employee Confirmation Dear All,
I have a question for this community....I have recently resigned my job due to health concerns. I was on a three month probation but never received any further word on confirmation of my services. This is what my appointment letter said....
Dear XYZ,
ABC is pleased to appoint you as __________ with effect from November 7,2007. You will be on probation for a period of three months and will be guided by the rules and regulations of the organization.
Your Cost to the Company will be RS _________
The salary break up is as under____
We wish you all the best and look forward to a long and mutually beneficial association.

In this case do I owe them a notice period? I have been told that after probation an employee gets confirmed automatically.....Is this true? Is there anything like an automatic confirmation in legal terms?
I am unable to serve them a notice period due to health concerns. Just want to know if it is legally binding when I haven't received any written confirmation of my services post probation. They are threatening me with a bad reference on my relieving letter.
