I am MBA-HR & presently working in a Generalist-HR profile for last 1 & half year.
I am exposed to different areas of HR, but the salary is quiet less as compared to my batchmates. Is this the right time for change ?
Can salary be a reason for change.
What should be the ideal salary hike that I can ask when applying for another job ?
When asked in the interview about "Reason for change", should I mention that Salary is the reason ?
Please advise.

why dont u ask for appraisal in ur present co.? u seem to be saitsfied with profile..it will be nice if u could stick here for some more time and get a good hike...if after completion of 2 years u still dont get appraisal..u can change...rite now, ask for a hike in appraisal

Wat vineeta suggested is appropriate.
Anywayz u can tell that u r planning for economically strong and u have family commitments to meet the needs.
The percentage of hike you can ask for is 15-20% if you are confident about ur job role & responsibility and as long as you are confident about yourself.

Hi,
I would say that salary is the ONLY reason in 90% cases but it has not to be disclosed!!!!!!
Just like Miss world answering of the question "What would you do if you won this title?"
She answers thatb I would charity and service to the socity and take care of the orphans and poors and blah blah blah.....
Nerver ever say that reason for the change is salary, this will push you back. Instead fingd some good smart answer.
And Yes it is high time that you change your job coz u already have passed one+ year and you are under paid????

Dont ever compare with your batchmates.
Sometimes your juniors will overtake you
Look at the size of the company, job content and learning potential
You must have a career design
1to 5 years...... Learn and learn
5 to 10 yeras learn through expereiments For this you must have reached Managerial position
10 to 15 years Work on startegy You must have reached General manager position of say 500 crore company minimum
15 to 20 Start mentoring Try movng to Business
This career design you must plan
Alongwith this you also have a salary design for you
Then you can take decions faster
