Default CSR by HR

Dear CiteHR friends,

Happened to come across some interesting thoughts on "corporate social responsibility".

It says "Though CSR is the primary responsibiity of the investors, an emerging new role of HR in the Philippines and developing countries could be in the making– to be in the forefront of advocating CSR or Corporate Social Responsibility."

So that is the way HR shoul move?

Do us in this country have good idea of CSR?

Read at https://skopun.wordpress.com/2006/05...in-the-making/

It also talks of "sustainable development"

Some time ago I had posted an article by Sri Sri Ravishankar on this subject.

Thanks
Bala

A detailed process has been developed to ensure that every programme delivers measurable improvements in the quality of life, changes attitudes of people involved, provides learning for volunteers and co-ordinators and creates possibilities to make an impact on government procedures. A set of declarations, guidelines and case studies have been evolved as reference for the companies. The Group is also co-ordinating with heads of environment divisions of major Group companies to evolve a framework for environmental management and social accountability.

Employee volunteering is an important focus area and every company is encouraged to nominate one senior level person to co-ordinate the organization Corps of Volunteers.

The areas for development programmes have been identified as vocational training, education, health, empowerment of women and children, water management and rural and urban development programmes.
