Very interesting.
I particularly must appreciate the comment on players must know their inner calling. There are lots of theoretical leadership seminars and workships which do not bother to pinpoint where one can be a leader since a majority of people expect to be lead by example- I worte a published article on this last year-

There is a reference to young leardership and Ishant sharma being a rookie. By coincidence I happen to be reading a book called "Dhiubhaism" where it is given how Dhirubhai Ambani knew how to take ristks with young, unconventional minds.
A leader nees luck as well. I read in some interview that Sachin as captain tiied the samer strategy against the same opposition at the same venue in approx same situation where Mohammad Azharuddin as captain had done earlier. It worked for Azhar but not for Sachin. If Dhoni had failed in the bold and uncoventional steps he took, the media, the slectors, the board and the public would be gunning for him. Kudos to his courage.
The Selectors should also be complimented for selecting Dhoni as captain as at that time, Yuvraj, sehwag,Harbhajan,Irfan etc were senior to him in terms of expereince. It was a cool move by the selectors to select the cool cat- Dhoni who did not turn out to be a phoney.
