Re: Azim Premji's comment on reservation
Dear All,
I dont know whether the letter was written by Azim Premji or not but what I can say is that it gives an execellent insight into the fact that professions and sports exist only on merit and nothing else, and dont have the luxary of the tax payers money to write off losses(as in case of PSUs) . In this world of today every ounce of your asset must be utilised effectively to survive the Global Competition. Sadly, because of vote bank politics the only edge we had over the world i.e., knowledge and skill is being sacrificed by todays Government.
All these talks of affirmative actions by our Social Justice Minister is applicable for Developed nations like US, but on our way from a developing nation to the developed nation we need to depend on merit and merit alone. We simply cannot act like a developed nation and start reservations, otherwise we are never going to become one.
It is wrong to assume that it is Caste of Hindus which have been discriminatory. We should first reserve seats for the people of South India because they are the actually residents of India. The rest of India are priviledged class which includes invading Aryans. The next opressors are Muslims rulers who ruled and exploited the nation. The next in line comes the Christians who ruled our nation for 200 years. So, I believe the previlage class should include Christans, Muslims, Aryans and the deprieved lot is the South Indians having Dravidian Origin.
It is really sad to target a small section of society of a particular religion to be targeted for electorially combining a larger mass on principal of hatred. The discrimination exist in all part of the world in all form. Why and how is it that it is only Caste System of Hindus is the major discriminator and greatest evil?
The first thing we should fix is who are Hindus. It is high time we stop categorising people with no fixed religion or local religion as Hindus.
Second all Dalits/OBC and so call lower castes Hindus who have converted to other Religions must be kept out of this Reservation Policy and treated as person from other religions.
So, before starting any policy the above things must be fixed first.
In the end I would like to request to all that we should be politically active in putting our views across.

Regards,
SC

Re: Azim Premji's comment on reservation
It is realy a humaristic blow on the supporters of RESERVATION.

AS PER MY view the following could be the solution for the same

Our country is facing a very large problem, and this is only a creation of the Politicians of India who, if like can apply the following policy in our country which will be non objectionable to everyone.
The main problem is Education and the Expenditure incurred on that by the people of high profile/standard and the same is neglected by the downtrodden.

We cannot provide RESERVATION ON ECONOMIC BASIS, AS IF THIS IS PRACTISED THEN INCIDENT LIKE WIFE AND DAUGHTER OF SANJAY KHAN , the great artist of BOLLYWOOD, have claimed to be the poor and got alloted flats reserved for economic poor families.

so , If the down troddens have to be brought up to the level then only the remedy which could be offered is the following.

1. Education for all the children up to 10th compulsarily made free of cost for all the Indian Children of any caste, crede.
2. Educational books for all the children can be purchased by the General caste and free books must be provided to the children of other caste and crede.
3. Take atleast one whole year and make a well defined structure of the syllabus for each and every class so that, the books once made can be used atleast for another 5 years. year to year changes in the courses makes it difficult for one to purchase new books, if there are more children in the family in continuous classes.

4. Free Books and Education should be provided only when a family is having only one child either boy or girl.

5. If an family is having two of them only Education should be provided free to them not books.

6. And finally if a family gave birth to another child then no free facility should be provided

We all must unit together and raise a voice against this and if yes we can discuss further and make future planning to raise voice against this.

please leave your comment on this and future planning.

1. We can march together in Delhi,
2. Can call for bandh for one day.
3. Can ask the Indian Politicians to bring up a bill for free education as above.

you can add your comments in this series and on and on.

I think we should have job reservations in all the fields. I completely support the PM and all the politicians for promoting this. Let's start the reservation with our cricket team. We should have 10 percent reservation for Muslims. 30 percent for OBC, SC /ST like that. Cricket rules should be modified accordingly. The boundary circle should be reduced for an SC/ST player. The four hit by an OBC player should be considered as a six and a six hit by a OBC player should be counted as 8 runs. An OBC player scoring 60 runs should be declared as a century. We should influence ICC and make rules so that the pace bowlers like Shoaib Akhtar should not bowl fast balls to our OBC player. Bowlers should bowl maximum speed of 80 kilometer per hour to an OBC player. Any delivery above this speed should be made illegal.

Also we should have reservation in Olympics. In the 100 meters race, an OBC player should be given a gold medal if he runs 80 meters.

There can be reservation in Government jobs also. Let's recruit SC/ST and OBC pilots for aircrafts which are carrying the ministers and politicians (that can really help the country.. )

Ensure that only SC/ST and OBC doctors do the operations for the ministers and other politicians. (Another way of saving the country..)

Let's be creative and think of ways and means to guide INDIA forward...

Let's show the world that INDIA is a GREAT country. Let's be proud of being an INDIAN..

May the good breed of politicans like ARJUN SINGH long live...

Re: Azim Premji's comment on reservation
Dear All,
If this comment is of Aziz Premaji it is very sad. The reservation policy which is existing in India assures only admission and not the degree or job for anyone. The situation what is crated by Premaji (if the above statement is of Prmaji) not at all existing in India. There are reservations in Goveronment jobs and these workforce is just 3% of total workforce in India. This is also on the basis of merit only.

Please don't misconceptulise on reservations and reservation policy. As a policy it is very ideal which is created by Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar but it is percolated and spread and taken current scenario is collective bad effect of politicians, selfish citizens and so on.

Dr Manisha

Re: Azim Premji's comment on reservation
Dear Friends,
I would like to share my thoughts about the comments of Mr.Premji on reservation if it were really his comments in the first hand, I feel the message conveyed is right though the style has been one of sarcasm. Reservation in today's scenario should not be one which should be defined my the caste system but by the economic status of the students. The government committees whould take adequate care, in finding a fool proof methodology which would provide a reservation policy based on a combination of econoica status and merit. this is just m viewpoint. take care.

yours

Re: Azim Premji's comment on reservation
Hi comments were totally justified when politicians do their own thing and we the people cant stand against it
people at such high positions need to take a stand and express the views of the majority
he could not have put it any better
we should have more powerful and influential people like him coming forward and fighting against reservation

Re: Azim Premji's comment on reservation
Dear Dr. Manisha,

The first and foremost thing is reservation and it's concept in all form and principle is wrong. What you are preaching is reverse casteism. It does not matter who is the exponent of this system and however great mind he may be. He or they have made a historic blunder. Are responsible for brain drain.

With due regards to everyone.

Kind Regards,
SC

Re: Azim Premji's comment on reservation
Hi all,

I completely agree that the reservations Should not be based on the caste and creed of the student but the basis of the segregation should be on the income of the family and also not compromising the benchmarks to secure admission or a job. The caste of the person doesnt stop him from thinking. It doesnt define the intellect or IQ level of a person nor can it stop any persons curiosity of a person to learn.

Had we given to express an example of these statements we could illustrate the example of Dr.xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxx, a personality that India would always want to have. Such a brilliant person who had lot of financial crunches and severe financial hardship. But as it is rightly pointed out his willingness to fight with the situation dint change. He still fought with the circumstances and proved his talent not just to India but to the entire world. We would like to respect a person with these qualities.

I belong to a Hindu background and had lost admission in Biotechnology when i was out of college. And a person who belonged to SC category secured the MSc admission over me and left the course half way.

Today he is known to do nothing in his life. I have willingness to fight .I took up job and then saved money and started learning E-MBA and i am working as HR Executive in one of MNC's.

Thanks and Regards,
