Sanjay,

The Government of India brought forth the Minimum Wages Act providing for fixation of minimum wages for the unorganized workers.

Currently, the Act has 45 scheduled employments in the Central sphere and 1232 in the State sphere. It stipulates that the minimum wage should not be below Rs 45 per day for any worker, with an average employment for 25 days in a month.

The following States have fixed minimum wages :

Andaman & Nicobar
Himachal Pradesh
Mizoram

Andhra Pradesh
Jammu & Kashmir*
Orissa

Arunachel Pradesh
Jharkand Nagaland
Assam* Karnataka Punjab

Bihar* Kerala Rajasthan
Daman Lakshwadeep Tamil Nadu*

Delhi Madhya Pradesh
Tripura

Gujarat Manipur* Uttar Pradesh*
Haryana Meghalaya* West Bengal

Maharastra is not amonst them.

Hi,
Maharashtra also has Minimum Wages fixed by the Government , which are revised from time to time. The daily wager's wages should be at par with the Minimum wages if paid monthly.
