Hi,

It is not manadatory to register your company with the shops and establishments act unless and untill you have more than five employees, but its a better thing to do.

Also contact the nearest muncipal office and they might be able to guide you to the local shops and establishment office.

Its not that expensive and a very easy process.

Hope the above was useful.

Thanks & Regards,

AJ

Hi
Chennai Corporation is the authority to whom you should apply for registration under TN Shops & Establishment Act.

The registration under Tamilnadu Shops and Establishment Act is not mandatory. It is only required to maintain the obligations mentioned in the Act like maintainance of registers, display of notices etc. You can write to the Dy. Commissioner and get a letter from them that the registration is not mandatory for audit purpose if required for future. We have done a similar process in our concern. You may contact me @ for any clarifications

Thanks and Best Regards
