HR is some where responsible for instigating office romance.
What should be the role of HR to reduce/control the office romance?
Office romances are danger to organizations, but if you go in past then you will find the office romance is not the new baby its going on from donkeys days.
Now the world is coming closer , due to cultural change this was bound to happen, I have seen in many Software companies , mostly in the night shift , couples are doing romance, in the some or other corner of the office.
Some what i think is HR are also responsible for this because we are the only who create the rules & break it knowingly or unknowingly.
You will find some companies are giving Dating Allowance which is nothing but an instigation to office romance only.
Mostly in the BPO's HR encourage this activity because or with the view that this will retain their employees.
the office romance may affect the organizational productivity , BUT in the software industry where people / employees those who are on bench because of the working system of a software industry , one can not stop them by doing this as result it may lead to high attrition.
