When the interviewer inquire about our greatest strengths then the trap is He wants to judge whether we act in a very egotistical form and turn arrogant or we become humble.
So the BEST ANSWER could be check what exactly what the interviewer wants and needs and mould your answer in the same form.
for this, Prior to any interview, be prepared of your greatest strengths with Situational EXAMPLES. once you uncover your interviewer's greatest wants, you choose only those achievements that best gel up.
I read at this cite only while coming accross to one of such questions which says that :-
As a general guideline, the 10 most desirable traits that all employers love to see in their employees are:
1. A proven track record as an achiever...especially if your achievements match up with the employer's greatest wants and needs.
2. Intelligence...management "savvy".
3. Honesty...integrity...a decent human being.
4. Good fit with corporate culture...someone to feel comfortable with...a team player who meshes well with interviewer's team.
5. Likeability...positive attitude...sense of humor.
6. Good communication skills.
7. Dedication...willingness to walk the extra mile to achieve excellence.
8. Definiteness of purpose...clear goals.
9. Enthusiasm...high level of motivation.
10. Confident...healthy...a leader.
coming on to your second question_ greatest weaknesses:--
this question is generally asked because may be they want to eliminate you on this basisi. if you being very turthful to the interviewer for speaking about your weaknesses you would be appreciated for your honesty but then only outsidet the interview room because you may earn a negative markeing.
Answer can be moulded in such a form that while telling your weakness one of your strength should be reflected. one such ideal answer can be
“I sometimes push my team too hard. I like to work with a sense of urgency and everyone is not always on the same wavelength.”
but still a best anwer can be that say that sir right now i am not able to think any of my weaknesses that would hold me bcak in persuing my goals.
Hope this will help you in framing out your ansers.
regards
