I have opted for withdrawal of my PF amount from my previous company. Now I need to fill the SSN form, Can it be done from my new office, and previous amount will be provided without any issues. Or I need to do it from my old company.
I have shifted to this new office after my marriage, so does my surname change may create some issues in the transaction?
What is the system of allotments for PF account no.s ? Does it gets changed evrytime u transfer/ withdraw the amount?
Please answer the above stated queries, Thanks.

Hello Prachi,
I would like to know few details before I could answer your queries.
When did you resigned and filled up the PF withdrawal form? Also find out from your earlier company whether your form has written back to your old company for non-submission of NSSN form? There would not be any complication , but some paper work has to be done.

Thanks Harshad,
I resigned 1 month back, and PF withdrawal form is still with my old co. My only concern in filling NSSN form from my new place is issue less withdrawal of the amount. My new co. has provided the form to me, but they said that without SSn no. it is not possible to withdraw PF, hence better to fill it from my previous organisation. I am totally confused now.

Hello Prachi,
Since you have resigned one month back, your withdrawal form will go in pf only after two months of your resignation. Since you are married now, in new company your new name will be there, you can have new pf number with the new name. So NSSN form you can give in your old company with old name and they will submit both ( SSN , PF withdrawal form after two months). So there won't be any issue of your name.
Secondly NSSN number will be like your PAN card number, once that is issued it will be permanent, even if you change the organization.

Hi Prachi,

These days SSN forms (Social Security Number) is set mandatory for withdrawal of PF. You are required to get it filled and signed by your previous employer. If you use the form from new employer it will not be possible for you to withdraw the money.

You have to wait for 2 months from the date of leaving your previous company to apply for withdrawal. If you show you are employed you will not get the withdrawal.

As you have mentioned you have got married so when you fill the details in SSN form tick in the sr. no. 9 and give particular in the fields. (form Attached).

Every company has its own registration no. and whenever a employee joins they issue a account no to the employee. So, when you switch the company your PF account no changes but if you wish to transfer your PF accumulations you may do so and your Old PF accumulation can be transferred to new account no.

Once the SSN numbers will be allotted, you wont have to worry about changes in the account no as your social security number will be your passport for all the things related to PF. Imagine you will be able to check balance in your PF account from Net.

regards

Thank you Harshad and Arvind,
Your comments really helped me out.
Now I understood what i have to do, i was in this confusion since last one month. :)
So I will submit the application in my old office with my new name in the NSSN form (mentioning all required details in sr. no. 9) & card will be issued at the correspondence address that I will mention in the form. Once I get the SSN card I will simply give the SSN no. in my present office, right..? and I hope no marriage certificate is required with this..!
Thanks again.
Warm Regards,
Prachi.

Hello, Prachi, you need to submit the marriage certificate copy with NSSN form, as in your old company and PF records name before marriage is available. Regards, Harshad

Hi prachi,
You don't have to wait for the SSN number as it is a formality and actual disbursement of SSN no will take more than 2-3 Years (People are getting withdrawal without a SSN No.). The accumulation of PF is disbursed within 45-60 days from the date of application. so you are not required to give your SSN no to your present company. The amount will be credited to your account as per your Bank A/c. details in withdrawal form (Make sure it is not a joint account).
You may attach your marriage certificate so that there are no queries.

Hi,
The PF withdrawal forms 10c and 19 will have to be submitted with the previous employer
See the SSN No. is something entirely different from these transaction, the benefit in having an SSN no. is that whenever you change the company the fund that is there in the previous organisation will be transfered to that account
You may ask me what is the benefit of this SSN no. the answer is when you change any company the new company gives you a new PF account number. where as SSN no. is something which doesnt change and it stays as an permanant number to you.
If you name is changed, in the form 10c there are Name of the member and another is Name of the claimant the name of the member is the name that you had previously i.e. the name with wich you filled you PF nomination form, and the Name of the Claimant is the new name that you got changed to.
Hope this information clarified you. Thanks

Vivek
