In India, the State Governments are authorized to charge and collect professional tax on any income earned by an individual. Professional tax is deducted on account of the said provisions and thus varies from state to state.
For e.g. it is deducted
In Tamil Nadu @ Rs. 1620 per annum
In Karnataka -@ Rs. 2400 per annum
In Andhra Pradesh -@ Rs. 2400 per annum
In Maharahstra -@ Rs. 2500 per annum

Hi Everyone,

Please anyone clarify my doubt..

In karnataka PTcutoff is 15000/-

01. If the person monthly salary is 15100/- - He is Applicable for PT and the same person draws the net amount below 15000/- due to absent what is the PT - Weather it is applicable or not.

02. if the same person absent for 29 days in a month then his salary is only 503/- then wat is the PT rate weather we should deduct PT in his salary or not..

Kindly any one help me out from this.
