from my there are view 5 steps to gauge employee satisfaction Energy If the air around the office is crackling with energy and enthusiasm then it definitely indicates that everyone is raring to go!
The spring in the step definitely indicates that the person is charged up to face a multitude of tasks. A spontaneous rendition of the latest popular song while being alert and glued to the monitor just indicates that the person is enjoying his job just like one would a song and dance routine! Smile
This curve is the most obvious indication of an employee's satisfaction. Happy employees make for happy work environments. The lack of a smile and an agitated demeanor clearly signals that the employee is not happy about something within the company, be it the individual's job, or the work environment. Banter Office banter roughly includes coffee table and lunchroom conversations and general gossip. Keep track of the groups of employees who gravitate together out of common interests. What is being discussed at these places will help the HR department effectively pinpoint the levels of satisfaction within the office. Willingness to take on extra Employees who are happy with their jobs do not mind taking extra loads of the same kind. Since they obviously enjoy what they are doing, they do not mind the extra work once in a while! Faithfulness to Deadlines Adhering to deadlines is not a problem when a job is executed with enthusiasm. Lack of motivation coupled with lethargy is kept at bay as the work is viewed not as burden but as fun.
All these indicators will prove effective only if the HR manager takes pains to keep himself abreast of office happenings. Expecting genuine feedback through form filling is asinine, as it is the most sterile form of communication one and only

Employee statisfaction is passe. The new concept is employee engagement. Gallup Consulting is the pioneer & leader in this. Do a google search on Gallup consulting and also on employee engagement and you would get a lot of stuff. Also go through the book "First break all rules" by Marcus Buckinghamm and you would get all that you need to know about this.

>Employee statisfaction is passe. The new concept is employee engagement.< You are correct. Employee satisfaction is easy to measure and easier to increase than is employee engagement. However, employee engagement is nothing new.
>Gallup Consulting is the pioneer & leader in this.< Are they the pioneer? We have been using the insights of the book "First Break All The Rules, what the world's greatest managers do differently" since 1991 and the approach we use dates back to the 1960s.
>Also go through the book "First break all rules" by Marcus Buckinghamm and you would get all that you need to know about this.< The book is a wonderful resource and it does a great job of explaining why hiring for talent works so well for creating an engaged workforce. We have helped more than 50,000 employers hire for talent. By the way, it takes applicants about an hour to answer the 318 questions that uncovers their talents.

However you are formatting the questionnaire, you should defnitely find out from each person their tenure at the company and their experience so far, in order to give proper weightage to those who know more and have experienced more about the company.

Aditi |
