CVR COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING - Andhra Pradesh
Ø CVR College of Engineering, an NRI promoted institution, is the fastest growing Engineering College located near Hyderabad city.
Ø CVR was established in the year 2001 offering B.Tech. in EEE, ECE, CSE & IT.
Ø CVR is the only NRI promoted institution in the entire Osmania University (Telangana) area among more than 175 engineering colleges.
Ø CVR was accredited by NBA (National Board of Accreditation of the All India Council for Technical Education) in September, 2007 for the branches of EEE, ECE, CSE & IT, in a minimum span of two batches leaving the College and within just 6 years of its existence.
Ø Based on the Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) ranks of the students coming into CVR and based on the NBA accreditation, CVR was ranked at Top-5 of all colleges affiliated to JNT University.

Dr. Raghava V. Cherabuddi, BE, M.S., & Ph.D. (Comp. Engg.) is the President and Chairman of the College. He worked at Intel Corporation for about 11.5 years (10 years in Santa Clara, California and 1.5 years in Bangalore). He has been now with Microsoft Corporation India Pvt. Ltd., since about a year at Hyderabad.
The College has the following senior Professors occupying important positions in the College:
(i) Dr. K. Rama Sastri, Ph.D. (Engg) former Registrar and Rector of JNT University was the Principal of the College during 2002 to 2007 and now the Director of the College.
(ii) Dr. A.D. Rajkumar, former Dean of Engineering, O.U. is the Principal
(iii) Dr. K.V. Chalapati Rao, former Dean & Head, Computer Science Department, O.U. is the Dean of Computer Science & Informatics, CVR.
(iv) Prof. R.V.B. Chary, former Professor & Head, ECE Department, O.U. is Professor of ECE & Director, Centre for VLSI Design.
(v) Prof. P. Gurunadha Rao, former Visiting Professor of Osmania University, is Professor & Head of ECE, & Director, Students' Affairs.
(vi) Prof. L.C. Siva Reddy, former Prof. of CSE, O.U. is the Vice-Principal, Professor & Head of CSE Department.
(vii) Dr. S. Kamakshaiah, former Professor and Head, JNT University, is Professor and Head, Department of EEE.
(viii) Prof. R. Seetharamaiah, with over 20 years industry experience is Professor & Head of IT.
(ix) Prof. S. Sengupta, former Executive Director of ECIL is Professor of ECE & Director, Projects.
(x) Prof. T. Lakshminarayana, former General Manager, BHEL-R&D, is Professor & Head of EIE Department.
(xi) Prof. U.V. Ramana Sarma, former Principal of Anwar-Ul-Uloom College of Engg., is the Professor & Head of Informatics Department.
(xii) Dr. C. Madhusudana Reddy, former Head of Business Management, O.U., is the Professor & Head, Management Studies.
FACULTY: The College has recruited Assistant Professors through JNT University Selection Committee. Besides the Principal, it has 12 Professors, 38 Assoc. Professors & 105 Asst. Professors in all the areas of (i) English (ii) Mathematics (iii) Physics (iv) Management (v) Computer Science & Engineering (vi) Electrical Engineering (vii) Electronics & Communication Engineering (viii) Mechanical Engineering.
LABS: The College has Computer Labs (eight), Fluid Mechanics & Hydraulics Machinery, Electro Mechanics Labs I & II, Electrical Measurements & Testing Lab / NT Lab, Control Systems Lab/ Power Electronics Lab, Simulation Lab (MAT LAB), Electronic Devices & Circuits Lab, IC Lab/ PDC Lab, DC Lab/ AC Lab, ECAD Lab / Electronic Circuits Lab, IMP Lab/ DSP Lab, Microwave & Optical Communications Lab, VLSI Lab, Instrumentation Lab-1 / Instrumentation Lab-3, Process Control Lab / Instrumentation Lab-2, Embedded Systems Lab, with sophisticated and latest equipment. Total built up area of the College is about 2.5 Lakhs Sft.
LIBRARY: Library has more than 30,000 Books and 160 Journals. The Library has membership for the following Database facilities: 1) AP-SONET, 2) DELNET, 3) AICTE-INDEST Consortium. The Library has independent building catering all the requirements in three floors. The College has four Departmental Libraries.
MOST NOTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF CVR:
(i) MoU with Intel Corporation and JNTU to train the faculty of Engineering Colleges of AP. 56 faculty members from 30 Engineering Colleges have participated in Intel Workshop on Microprocessors held during December 2002.
(ii) R & D project sanctioned to CVR by DRDO for an amount of Rs.18 Lakhs with Dr. Sarah, HOD, Physics as Coordinator.
(iii) MoU with Cadence Design Systems Inc. for establishing Centre for VLSI Design equipped by Cadence VLSI Tools under Cadence University Program (Ireland). CVR is third institution in Andhra Pradesh next to NIT, Warangal and IIIT to have such world rated VLSI tools.
The vision of the College is to reach institute of excellence in a span of about 10 years from the inception. With that vision, the College is progressing by expanding the number of branches in B.Tech, adding additional courses like MBA, MCA & M.Tech. and encouraging Research areas for the faculty, stressing on the quality. Everybody concerned to the College like Management, Staff & Students have the spirit of participating in that vision of the College.
