Interview in an interview
Hi i had a very strange experience yesterday when our technical panel and i were taking an interview for a sales position. the candidate had asked for a reschedule for the following day due to some problem and we obliged. he came down to our office to give the interview we started the interview and he got a call in between the interview he asked our permission and went out to attend the call. we were waiting for the candidate as well we could hear him talk over the phone and we could make out that he was attending a telephonic interview. technical panel left the venue. i waited for him to get back for around 25minutes. he got back and told that he had got a call from his manager. i asked him directly were you attending a telephonic interview he accepted it. i told him he cannot take an organization lightly and he was rejected due to his attitude. was i right in doing it? or should have only told him that he was rejected and not spoken about his interview. please let me know. if you have experienced something similar let all of us know it. regards madhu
H.r behavior
Hai members i m an new joiner in an organization as an hr.before i joined this field i worked as a operation manager in a reputed company for nearly nine years.for a change in career i joined hr.that is not the problem .when i joined the hr senior told me that she will guide me if i have made any mistakes.but still this day never given any useful advise that i could take except criticism.but it doesn t matter i can take it and learn from that.the problem i m having is the attitude she shows towards the candidates who come for the interview.when an candidate came for an interview she will call and ask the security in the company send them to the interview room.she never go down to meet the candidate or invite to the interview.and the interview result of the candidate is given through the same security.if the candidate failed the interview she will call the security and tell them to send the candidate away. when i start to take interview i will go down to meet the candidate also given the results of the candidate.even if the candidate failed i will explain to them why they failed.she told me to call the security and let them send away the candidate who failed the interview.every few days she would tell me whenever i go down to meet the candidate. is this behavior acceptable for an hr?is the attitude she has shown towards the candidates right?if not then what is the right behavior that an hr should show towards a candidate who came for an interview.i would also like to know what to tell the candidate if he/she failed the interview.am i doing the right thing when i explain why they failed the test? i would like to know from the senior members of the community regarding this matter. thanks and regards senthil kumar.a
Interview feedback
Dear all i have faced a problem recently. i have attended an interview recently with one of the big it company recently for team leadhr role. having 7 yeas of experience in the hr field i was very keen to explore the opportunity with this organisation. the recruiter was following up with me even 30 minutes before the interview which made me feel good thinking that they are very much interested in my profile. my interview was at 10:am and i reached the place at 9:45 am. i had to wait almost 1.30 hours for the interview there were many waiting for interviews. the interview was very short for about 10 minutes and the recruiter told me that the managerhr who had to talk to me was very busy and could give me a call in the evening at 6:00 pm which was confirmed. i had almost took half day off and again in the evening i waited for the call for 30 minutes and it was in vain. there was not even a call or message from the recruiter. i did follow up with him for the same and he told me that he would check and give me a confirmation. its one month over and no feedback from them. i feel as as hr professionals don t we have to get back to the candidate atleast with a reply or a message. from this experience should i assume that they are not interested in me?
