Hi,
It is good that your co. is in growing stage.
But, besides the business, all your other stocks must also grow. In this regard, HR plays a vital role. So u should do the following things :
1. first check the existing rules & regulations of the co.
2. then find out the HR Policies that are existing in the co.
3. Discuss with top officials what r the areas which r going to affect by this expansion or growth
4. List out these activities & what needs to be done
5. Discuss with others how to bring any new changes so that Customers of the Organisation will be benefited by this.
6. At the end see how these changes r taking effect
Because it is very difficult to judge and cover all the areas of the concerned area at first instance itself.
so, u have to wait for its practical implication then u can change after that with some minor modification.
Hope u will be benefited by this.
Regards
Sumit.............

Hi Sumit

I work for a software compnay just like you and Iam the first Hr of the company .I will share with you what I did in my company

1 .I prepared an employee handbook where all the general rules and regulations have been laid down

2 I introduced the leave record system.

3 I restructured the entire process of recruitment (with feedback from management )

4.I have introduced a system to collect employee feedback and suggestions

5. I introduced a salary structure(I received lots of info from CIteHR on the same and I will forever be grateful to members of citehr for such invaluable info :) )

If you want more info drop a mail at we can also talk about incentive plans and performance appraisal

My suggestion to you is first identify the areas where Hr intervention is needed and then prioritise your work accordingly. Also remember that you have been appointed to take care of the employees and also to advice managment to take important decisions,so you have to maintain a cordial relation wyith both the parties

I hope this makes sense to you

Thanks and Regards

Have effective communication policy. Communicate to the employees what you can do. Do not make false promises.
Distinguish between the personal and professional life of your employees. Do not get involved in office politics.
These are some of the basics requirements for HR to be effective in any organization. If you follow this other things will automatically fall into places.
I hope this will make some sense to you.
Thanks and Regards

Hi,
i am a student of mba (hr and IT) .yet i have to complete my mba ,there is three months left to complete mba. you are a professinal person but only by my college study ,i would like to suggest u that, the hr is very vast area u know that and if u want make it effective ,some training and development programme may arrange for employees. you have to point out the weakness in your employees and overall polices of organisation. if you seek any change be there you should suggest to your upper head.
best luck.

being a responsible employee in your HR, you should be drafting some plans of actions on how to grow your HR within the organisation, as the role of HR itself, it helps the organisation develop into a better organisation and become successfu.
